Afra runs an urban and retail consultancy and practice aiming to encourage equality, sustainability and wellbeing in urban areas. She designs and delivers strategic and creative urban revitalisation projects at a human scale, always encouraging participatory and experimental processes with the local community. She also helps cities to work in place-making and urban revitalisation through the re-use of empty space for community and creative benefit. In 2013, she became co-founder of Unlimited Meanwhile, a creative consultancy based in London specialised on urban revitalization and placemaking practices. She also set up Mentrestant, a delivery arm in Barcelona, and Cu-Cu App to scale the reuse of flexible and experimental empty space through technology in the UK.
Today, Afra looks forward to empower transparency in every project she works with, particulary to help brands and retail to showcase their hidden value, mostly in the food and fashion sectors.-
Communications, branding and transparency
I was Head of Projects for international and national projects at Provenance, a digital platform from London at the forefront of blockchain technology helping sustainable brands build trust through supply chain transparency. Provenance is tracking food, drinks and fashion on the blockchain. Provenance is a real-time data platform that empowers brands to take steps toward greater transparency by tracing the origins and histories of products. With Provenance you discover the unique story of origins, places, people and materials behind products.
I'm a blockchain enthusiast. From Proper Practice I join forces with Provenance to help local brands in Barcelona showcasing their true value by bringing business strategy, transparency and communication together to ultimately build trust and empower the conscious consumer.
A passion for cultural change, social innovation and user-centered approach to business led me to work with a range of creative and social start-ups for years to strategically reshape their upcoming opportunities by using both creative and strategic thinking, open-innovation, thinking behind design, co-creation methods and a strong design culture.
